REQUEST:

The request of staff for City Council is to review and consider for approval the attached task order from Halff Associates, Inc. for engineering services in the amount not to exceed $59,500 for the 2024 Aspen St., Pine St., High St., and School Rd. Drainage Improvements Project.



DISCUSSION
:

As City Council is aware, the Grand Blvd. (MUP) phase 1 will connect with the City’s existing path at Marine Pkwy head north on Grand Blvd. and end at Gulf Dr.   Subsequent to discussion with the consultant performing the design for the MUP, it has been determined that several drainage issues are apparent at the above locations associated with the MUP on Grand Blvd.  Several stormwater elements, such as curb inlets, the construction of miami curbing, the regrading of a portion of Aspen St., Pine St., High St., and School Rd., and finally, the installation of stormwater pipes are needed to reduce repetitive flooding at the intersections.  If approved by the City Council, the attached task order will commence the engineering design and construction phase of the drainage improvements.



RECOMMENDATION:

Approval of Task Order is recommended.



BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds for this project are identified and included in the City’s current CIP document as Misc. Flood Control.
