REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to accept a check in the amount of $2,000 from the New Port Richey Elks Lodge 2284 to be used for emergency management purposes for the Fire Department ($1,000) and Police Department ($1,000) and approve the corresponding budget amendment.
DISCUSSION:
The New Port Richey Elks Lodge 2284 hosted their "A Night for Heroes" fundraiser on June 7, 2023 to raise funds for our local first responders. After the event, staff was notified by the Lodge that they would like to present funds in the amount of $2,000 to the City of which $1,000 would go the Fire Department and $1,000 would go to the Police Department.
New Port Richey Elks Lodge 2284 members, John Connors and Jeff Siegel, will be in attendance to present the check to Fire Chief Chris Fitch and Police Chief Robert Kochen.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council accept a check in the amount of $2,000 from the New Port Richey Elks Lodge 2284 and approve the corresponding budget amendment as requested.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
