RE:2023 West & East Grand Neighborhood Improvements Sidewalk Project - Engineering Services Task Order

REQUEST:

The request of staff for City Council is to review and consider for approval the attached Task Order from Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. (ECT), for engineering services in the amount not to exceed $199,500 for the proposed 2023 West & East Grand Neighborhood Improvements sidewalk project.



DISCUSSION
:

This proposed project is made possible by the city being awarded grant funding administered thru the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. The main elements of the project will include the construction of approximately 10,602 linear feet of six-foot-wide concrete sidewalks where none currently exist or where there are gaps between existing sidewalks in the West & East Grand Neighborhoods.

 

As City Council is aware, staff has worked with ECT on several projects including, the Main Street Sidewalk Improvements project, the Beach Street Drainage Improvements project, and the Delaware Avenue Stormwater Drainage Improvements project. Staff is confident that the firm has the expertise to deliver a product that meets and or exceeds the demands and standards set by City Council and staff.



RECOMMENDATION:

Approval of Task Order is recommended.

 



BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds for this project are identified and allocated in the City's current Capital Improvement Program as CDBG grant dollars.
