REQUEST:
The request of staff for City Council is to review and to consider approval and award of the lowest bid submitted by Design Landscaping Management, Inc. (DLM) in the amount not to exceed of $50,667.50 for the City’s annual landscape maintenance. In addition, staff would request City Council to review and consider for approval, the second lowest bid in the amount not to exceed $54,600 from Average Joe Landscape to be utilized as a contingency if needed.
DISCUSSION:
On October 12, 2023 two (2) sealed bids were publicly open by the City. As Council is aware, the City utilizes private contractors for the mowing and landscape maintenance for City Hall complex grounds, Sims Park, Orange Lake, Gloria Swanson parking lot, and the new Fire Station No.2 location.
As Council may recall, DLM is a local firm that currently performs these services for the City under the current ITB contract agreement. During this time DLM has been dependable, professional, and detailed in performing the services mentioned.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval the two (2) bids and award of the contract are recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding is identified in the Grounds Maintenance Division (43433) and Streets & ROW Maintenance Division (43499).
