REQUEST:
The purpose of this item for City Council is to advance a discussion related to the adoption of the City’s single waste hauler program elements and methodology.
DISCUSSION:
As City Council may recall, during the September 5, 2023 City Council meeting staff presented and City Council awarded RFP23-023 to Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. dba JD Parker and Sons that allowed staff to begin the process of entering into a seven-year contract agreement with one (1) three-year renewal option for a single trash hauler service to operate within the City Limits. During the meeting, public comment was made available to address City Council with concerns pertaining to the program and its implementation. Discussion key points tonight include the billing process, program, the sharing of services, and program start time.
RECOMMENDATION:
Direction from City Council to staff on program elements is recommended.
