As the Board is aware, this project is included in the City’s current Capital Improvement Program.  On November 5, 2019 at a City Council work session a discussion was held between City Council, staff, and the consultant to further advance proposed improvement elements to the area of Railroad Square along Nebraska Avenue east of Grand Boulevard.  These improvement elements included the conversion of overhead service lines to underground, hardscape improvements such as stamped pavement, seating areas, planters, shade structures, hardscape, and finally overhead Café style lighting.  Subsequent to the design completion of these elements, additional subsurface utility engineering was performed which identified the need to relocate and resize the proposed shade structures as well as several planters, landscape, and a walkway.
