REQUEST:

The request of staff for CRA board of directors is to review and consider for approval the attached deductive change order in the amount of ($2,147.73) and final pay request in the amount not to exceed $241,871.80 from Augustine Construction, Inc. for the completion of the Main Street Entryway Signature Feature project. This project also included the City’s Main Street Court Yard project as a change order approved by the board of directors at its regular meeting held on March 28, 2024.  




DISCUSSION:

This project included the construction of a signature entry feature over Main Street facing US Hwy 19 to highlight the entrance of the City’s downtown area in an effort to create a sense of place and community image.  In addition to the entry feature, elements included in the base bid for the project are landscaping improvements such as trees, shrubs, ground cover, irrigation, and hardscape, and the construction of an LED monument sign on the S.E. corner of Main Street and US Hwy 19.  Change order elements added to the project included the construction of a court yard surrounded by shade trees, shrubbery, landscape, hardscape, outdoor furniture such as tables, chairs, tree wells with seating benches and trash receptacles located on the S.E. corner behind the newly constructed LED monument sign.




RECOMMENDATION:

Approval of the deductive change order and final pay request are recommended.
