RE:2024 Cotee River Bike Fest Alcohol Beverage Special Event Application

REQUEST:
The request before City Council is to review the Alcoholic Beverage Special Event Application for beer and wine to be sold in Sims Park during the 2024 Cotee River Bike Fest. The three-day event will take place from Friday, October 11, 2024, through Sunday, October 13, 2024.

DISCUSSION:

The Special Event Team met to review the Alcoholic Beverage Special Event Application for the Cotee River Bike Fest on April 30th, 2024. Farrell Cares Inc., the organizers of Cotee River Bike Fest, have requested approval to sell beer and wine in Sims Park on the following days: Friday, October 11th from 5pm - 11pm, Saturday October 12th from 12pm - 11pm, and Sunday October 13th from 1pm - 5pm.

 

The Alcohol Beverage Special Event Permit application states the requested times for alcohol sales to take place from 4:00pm to 11:00pm, per city ordinance, Chapter 3, Sections 3-5 (3) Conditions for ABSEP approval. Hours of operation for the sales and/or consumption of beer and wine shall be limited to 12:00pm through 11:00pm for events held Monday through Saturday and 1:00pm to 9:00pm for events held on Sunday.

RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation before City Council is to approve the Alcoholic Beverage Special Event Permit Application for the three-day Cotee River Bike Fest.
