The above-mentioned forfeiture funds exist to support police operations with dollars legally obtained from illegal activities. The funds in our forfeiture accounts are meant to be utilized by the New Port Richey Police Department to support the agency’s mission to safeguard our community. It should be noted that oversight of our forfeiture funds and the use thereof is accomplished through audits by State and Federal Officials, and mandatory spending approval by the New Port Richey City Council.
The strategic forfeiture expenditures listed below outlines items that will enhance the police department’s ability to safeguard city events and provide enhanced traffic control for safety purposes when needed.
The itemized list of expenditures is as follows:
Federal Equitable Sharing Forfeiture Account – total expenditures $45,000.00:
1) Up to thirty (35) water filled traffic safety barricades – expenditure approval up to $20,000.00
2) One (1) trailer to transport the water filled traffic safety barricades – expenditure approval up to $25,000.00
