REQUEST:
The request is for the City Council to consider rescinding the Order to Demolish on the structure at 5905 Pine Street. The matter shall be handled as a quasi-judicial hearing.
DISCUSSION:
In May of 2024, the Building Official issued an Order to Demolish for 5905 Pine Street. Since that date, the property has been purchased by a new owner, Gisselle Amparo, who is appealing that decision as they intend to remodel the existing structure. The present owner has submitted a building permit application and rehabilitation plans from a Florida registered professional engineer. The City Building Official has reviewed and approved those plans, and the Development Department is prepared to issue permits if the demolition order is rescinded.
RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation is for the City Council to withdraw the Notice of Demolition and rescind all prior orders requiring demolition of the structures at the property.
The property owner should be required to complete all renovations in order to receive a Certificate of Occupancy within six (6) months of this hearing date or the approved building permit shall expire and the Notice to Demolish can be reissued.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact to the City. | | | |
