The request is for the City Council to conduct a second and final reading of an ordinance related to amending Section 10.06 of the City Charter pertaining to the boundaries of the city and providing for revised city boundaries.

As Council will recall, in April 2024 Ordinance No. 2024-2287 was adopted which brought the legal description of the city up to date. This ordinance was needed as over the course of time several annexations had occurred which had not been reflected in the legal description of the city.

As Council is also aware, the annexation of the Leisure Lane/Van Doren area was completed after the above mentioned ordinance was adopted. Therefore, based on the that most recent annexation an amended legal description has been prepared which describes the city and it is presented as Exhibit A.

As Section 10.06 of the City Charter establishes the boundaries of the city, this request advances that Exhibit A shall replace Ordinance No. 2024-2287 which was adopted in April 2024.
