The purpose of this City Council work session is to advance a discussion related to the City’s Downtown Grand Blvd. Streetscape Concept identified in the City’s current Capital Improvement Program.
This project involves an assessment of the existing conditions of the city’s streetscape elements in the downtown area along Grand Blvd. from Orange Lake south to Montana Ave. and how improvements to the Downtown area may be incorporated to enhance the experience patrons encounter during their visits. Expansion of sidewalks, outside dining areas, large shade trees, hedges, and groundcover development. The possibility of eliminating the existing turn lanes and the narrowing of the two thru lanes will be discussed in an effort to create a traffic calming to lower vehicle speeds and incorporating shared-use lanes as an inter-connection to the City’s existing multi-use paths, along with other elements that may be identified during the work session.
