REQUEST:
I respectfully request authorization to accept a donation of $5,000 for transfer to the Johnny Cash Fund.
DISCUSSION:
A City resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, has presented the Department with a $5,000 check for donation to the Department's Johnny Cash Fund. The resident is making this donation in the memory of her two brothers who once were police officers in another jurisdiction. The Johnny Cash Fund, which was initiated by Johnny Cash in 1980 to benefit police officers in need, is managed by the Police Pension Board.
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend authorization to accept the $5,000 and permission to present it to the Police Pension Board.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
