On June 30, 2016 nine (9) sealed competitive bids were publicly open by the City. The nine (9) bids ranged from $218,800.00 to a low bid of $81,795.00. As Council is aware, mandatory site visits are a requirement for a contractor to be able to submit a bid for the mowing and grounds maintenance annual contract. The purpose of these site visits is to make sure the contractor understands the scope of services requested by the City and to aid in the estimation process of the bids. Subsequent to the bid opening, Design Landscape Management was the apparent low bidder for these services.
Design Landscape Management currently performs these services for the City. They are familiar with the scope of services and the terms and conditions of the existing and proposed contract. Design Landscape Management has been reliable and has always performed maintenance activities for the City at an above average standard.
