REQUEST:
The request before City Council is to review the Alcoholic Beverage Special Event Application from New Port Richey Main Street for Night in the Tropics to be held in downtown New Port Richey on Friday, August 19, 2016.
DISCUSSION:
The Special Event Team reviewed and approved the Alcoholic Beverage Special Event and the Special Event Application for Night in the Tropics at their regular meeting on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. The event will be held in downtown New Port Richey with street closures as identified on the map located in the application packet. One lane of Main Street will remain open for emergency vehicle usage. The Main Street Organization does not plan to sell any alcoholic beverages and only requests to create a "wet-zone" so that partons can purchase beer or wine from a local business and then walk the street in the event area to listen to music, view the car show and purchase Caribbean foods on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 5:00p.m. - 11:00p.m.
RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation before City Council is to approve the Alcoholic Beverage Special Event Application from New Port Richey Main Street for the Night in the Tropics event on Friday, August 19, 2016.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
The estimated cost for City Services is $2062. to be paid by the applicant. | | | |
