REQUEST:
The request is for Council to waive the twenty-four hour written notice provision for special meetings and to conduct a special emergency meeting regarding Tropical Storm Hermine.
DISCUSSION:
Pursuant to Section 3.01.00 of the City's Charter, an emergency meeting may be called by Council without complying with the twenty-four-hour written notice provision for special meetings subject, however, to the condition that the majority of the council members in attendance at such emergency meeting shall agree to waive the twenty-four-hour notice provision.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends Council approve the waiving of the twenty-four hour written notice provision for special meetings and to conduct a special emergency meeting regarding Tropical Storm Hermine.
