The site is located on the east side of Grand Boulevard, approximately 75 feet north of Main Street. Timothy Fussell, owner, is seeking approval of a mural on the south wall of his establishment.
The Code allows a mural to be located Downtown, subject to the approval of the City Council. The Code requires the Main Street Organization's Design Committee to conduct a technical review and provide a recommendation to the City Council. The Code was recently amended to state that approval shall not be based on the content of the mural, but rather compliance with technical requirements, including type of paint and proposed preparation of the wall surface.
The proposed mural has been submitted to the Main Street Organization's Design Committee for consideration. The committee voted to recommend approval of the mural.
