RE:	Request to Purchase Two P-25 Compliant Dispatch Consoles

REQUEST:

This request is for Council authorization to purchase two P-25 Compliant Dispatch Consoles and related hardware.

DISCUSSION:

The county-wide radio system has become obsolete and it is being upgraded to be encrypted P-25 Compliant. The County will be replacing, at no cost to the City, all of the Police and Fire Department’s mobile and portable radios and accessories beginning in January 2017.

Our dispatch center’s existing consoles must be replaced to be compatible with this new technology. This purchase will include: one operator workstation PC, two XG-75 CS7000 Control Stations, installation, programming, and licenses.

These items will be purchased through State Contract from William’s Communications, Inc. – 11191 43^rd St. North, Ste. A, Clearwater, Florida 33762 at a total cost of $69,225.19.

RECOMMENDATION:

I recommend approval of the two dispatch consoles and hardware from Williams Communications, Inc. at a total cost of $69,225.19.

BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds for this purchase were approved in the Department’s FY 2016-2017 Budget.
