The request of staff for the City Council is to review the attached New Port Richey Construction Services recommendation memo and to consider approval and award of the lowest bid submitted by Augustine Construction, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $228,290 for the 2015/2016 (CDBG) Circle Blvd. Improvements Project ITB-16-018.  

As City Council may recall, the proposed Circle Blvd. Improvements Project includes the milling of existing pavement, drainage improvements, ADA improvements to the existing sidewalk ramps, asphalt paving, and roadway marking installations.

The project was advertised for competitive bidding on October 8, 2016.  Eight (8) competitive bids were opened by the City on November 4, 2016.  The project bids received ranged from a low bid of $228,290. to a high bid of $368,615.54.  Augustine Construction has performed similar projects for the City in the past such as  the 2011 Misc. Stormwater and ADA Improvements Project and currently the Marine Pkwy Multi-Use Path Project. The City's Construction Services Division has reviewed the bid documents required for each submission, contacted references, verified line item dollar amounts, and has submitted a letter of recommendation for bid award based on their review process.
