REQUEST:
The City Council is asked to review and approve the following amendment to the FY17 Adopted Budget, which would allow for an increase in the use of Reserves (Fund Balance), in the amount of $24,877, to purchase a crash trailer for the City’s water tanker truck.
DISCUSSION:
With the newly added landscaping to U.S. Hwy 19, it will be the City’s responsibility to water and maintain the area. Currently, the City’s water tanker truck is not equipped with a crash trailer, which is a requirement of the Florida Department of Transportation. The purchase of this crash trailer was not originally budgeted for, since it was not apparent at the time that it was needed.
The City’s Purchasing Policy requires that any budget amendment that affects reserves be brought before the City Council for approval.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that City Council approve the amendment to the FY17 Adopted Budget, which would allow for an increase in the use of Reserves (Fund Balance), in the amount of $24,877, to purchase a crash trailer for the City’s water tanker truck.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
The total amount of budget impact is an increase in the use of Reserves (Fund Balance) by $24,877 and an increase of $24,877 in Acct. #002-0103-538.64-15 in the Stormwater Utility Fund. | | | |
