The current A/C system at the Fleet Warehouse has broken and is beyond repair. The purchase of a new A/C system was not originally budgeted for, but is needed in order to create a safe work environment for employees. The cost of a new A/C system will be $5,500.
The above mentioned purchase is considered a capital item. As stated in the City’s Purchasing Policy, any capital purchase that is not part of the original budget must go before the City Council for approval.
The Fleet Warehouse received $76 from the scrapping of old metal. With the Council’s approval, this money will be used to cover miscellaneous maintenance and repair costs. The Recreation & Aquatics Center received a $2,000 donation to cover the costs of renting inflatables for the Summertime in the City event, which will be held in June 2017.
As stated in the City’s Purchasing Policy, funds or revenue not originally budgeted for may be appropriated and expended after approval by the City Council.
