REQUEST:
I respectfully request Council approve the purchase of three (3) Harris DM-M78B mobile radios from Harris Corporation for installation in police vehicles.
DISCUSSION:
The radio equipment used in our vehicles is proprietary and only manufactured by Harris Corporation -- a New Port Richey based company. Communications International is the certified Harris Network Service Provider for our area and the sole authorized service provider for our account. The total amount of the radios is $8,150.37.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Coucil approve the purchase of three (3) radios from Harris Corporation for installation in our new police vehicles in an amount not to exceed $8,150.37 as submitted.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Equitable Sharing funds in the amount of $8,150.37 will be used for this purchase; therefore, there will not be a direct fiscal impact to the Department budget.
