REQUEST:
The request of staff for City Council is to review and consider for approval one year contract extensions with the same terms and conditions as set forth in the current contracts 16-016 and 16-017 with Design Landscape Management, Inc. for mowing and grounds maintenance of City Hall and Sims Park and mowing of right of ways.
DISCUSSION:
As Council may recall, the existing contracts dated September 6, 2016 contain an agreement term section stating the City reserves the right to extend the agreement/contract for three one year renewal options if the work is performed satisfactory under the same terms and conditions with a maximum of a 3% increase upon request with written consent of the contractor and provided that funds are available. Subsequent to discussions between the contractor and Public Works staff, it has been agreed that existing terms, conditions, and pricing in the 2016 agreement shall remain the same should City Council approve the first of three one year renewal options. The annual totals for contract 16-016 is $81,225 and 16-017 is $50,449.92
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the both one year contract extensions are recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding is budgeted and available in the Stormwater (002-0103-538-34-33), Grounds Maintenance (001-0110-539-34-33), and Community Redevelopment (630-0080-515-34-99), operating budgets line items.
