This project includes the fabrication and installation of wayfinding signage within two phases. Sign specifications were prepared by the KMA Group. Phase 1 will include main entry monument signs, secondary entrance signs, eight-foot pole mounted directional, parking lot identification signs, monument signs at City Hall, Library and Fire Station 1. Phase 2 will include additional directional signs along with park signage. A notice of bid was published in the Tampa Bay Times. It was also posted on the City’s website and several construction bidding websites.
Mandatory pre-bid meetings were held in late November. Nine companies attended the meetings. From that group, seven submitted bids which were publicly opened on December 21, 2017. The results are shown on the attached tabulation sheet. The apparent low bidder is Arete Industries with a bid of $563,890.
KMA analyzed the three lowest bids received from Arete, Don Bell Signs and Poblocki Sign Company. All provided the requisite information with each bid package. KMA’s review noted that Arete Industries submitted a qualified bid for the project.
