REQUEST: The request of staff for City Council is to review and consider for approval the Final Deductive Change Order in the amount of ($105,638.73) and the Final Pay Request in the amount of $21,700.00 from HD Supply Waterworks, Ltd. for the completion of the AMI Project Phase 2. The attached deductive change order and final pay application resulted in a total project cost of $822,892.12.
DISCUSSION:
As Council may recall, the AMI project phase was reviewed and approved by Council during its April 21, 2015 regular meeting. The approval included a do not exceed project amount of $928,530.85. This project included meter register retrofits, meter transmitter installations, meter box and lid replacements, one base station, two antenna towers, programming/diagnostic equipment, and software compatible with the Tyler Technologies/Munis utility billing software.
Subsequent to the completion of the Tyler Technologies/Munis computer software integration project, the new AMI system will contain live read capabilities for utility staff and customers in real time via the web based software, customized billing cycles and/or one billing date instead of billing cycles, notification of theft of service, water conservation notifications to staff, real time leak detection capabilities, and water usage verification between utility staff and the customer.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the final deductive change order and final pay request are recommended.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
