REQUEST:

Bid Award to Specialized Property Services, Inc.




DISCUSSION:

On January 16, 2018 the city released Invitation to Bid 18-011 for the scope of work related to the Hacienda Small-Matching Grant Award.

 

The city received sealed bids that were opened on February 8, 2018.

 

The scope of work is for the demolition and reconstruction of the historic Sims Park patio, the historic lobby staircase and installation of a supporting structural beam in the dining room archway.

 

Low bid was submitted by Specialized Property Services, Inc. in the amount of $139,200 with an alternate deductible of $20,735 related to decorative stairway components such as Wrought Iron Guardrail Panel. The alternate amount has been selected with the low bid being $118,512.

 

Specialized Property Services has worked on a number of historic preservation project, including two current projects with Bender & Associates in Key West, Florida. Bender has approved and supports the selected bidder.

 




RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of Hacienda Small-Matching Grant bid award to include the alternate deduct to Specialized Property Services, Inc. not to exceed $118,512.
