On December 13, 2017 staff released, RFQ 18-010: Historic Hacienda Hotel with a deadline for submission on January 26, 2018.
The request was for qualified firms and management teams to lease, purchase, renovate and/or redevelop to historic preservation standards, market and manage ongoing operations of a "destination use" historic property. The project will consider a range of options listed in the RFQ that are best suited for the City and future use of the historic property.
Three RFQ's were received.
- Heritage Group, Ltd., Vashon, WA
- Integrated Realty Investments, LLC., Sarasota, FL
- Lakeside Inn, Mount Dora, FL
A committee of seven staff members reviewed the qualifications of each submission. The firms were measured based upon the criteria described in the RFQ.
The results are as follows:
- Lakeside Inn - First Ranked
- Heritage Group - Second Ranked
- Integrated Realty - Third Ranked
Upon approval of the ranking of firms, staff will contact the number one ranked firm and begin discussions for the restoration and operations of the Hacienda. Plans are to expedite a development agreement, and to work closely with the firm as the city completes its current effort related to the historic preservation grant awards.
RECOMMENDATION:
Rank the firms as listed, selecting Lakeside Inn as the "Number One" ranked firm, and begin discussions to construct a proposal and development agreement for the restoration and operation of the Hacienda Hotel.
