REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve funding recommendations related to in-kind support of special events for FY 2017-2018 and FY 2018-2019.
DISCUSSION:
As you may recall, City Council met for a continuation of the discussion on funding for in-kind support for special events on January 30, 2018. The work session yielded a great dialogue and at the close of the discussion it appeared as if consensus was met to approve the recommendations as follows:

If the recommendations meet with Council's approval, the amounts would go into effect immediately and be formulated into the upcoming budget process. The increase in the overall funding amount will be forwarded to you through a budget amendment for this fiscal year’s budget at a later date.
RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation is for City Council to approve the funding recommendations related to in-kind support of special events for FY 2017-2018 and FY 2018-2019 as submitted by staff.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
The funding to cover this expenditure will be provided for in the City Council budget special events line item account number 001-0011-519-49-61 for the current fiscal year. The funding to cover the appropriation for the 2018-2019 FY will be included as an appropriation from the general fund next year.
