REQUEST:
I respectfully request Council authorize the purchase of a CCTV (closed circuit television) Camera System from Advanced Telecom, Inc., at a cost of $4,953 to provide “Safe Exchange” video camera coverage of the East (front) parking lot of the police department.
DISCUSSION:
The East (front) parking lot of the police department does not have adequate closed circuit television coverage. That parking lot is regularly used as a meeting location for child transfers, Craigslist, et.al, on-line purchase exchanges and other events requiring a “safe area”.
The requested CCTV equipment includes a hard drive, two outdoor bullet cameras, three dome cameras, cabling, labor for cabling, installation for set up; and a one-year warranty on all parts and labor.
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend the purchase of the above listed equipment from Advanced Telecom, Inc., 6911 FL-54, New Port Richey, FL 34653.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Abandoned property funds will be used for this purchase; therefore, there will not be a direct fiscal impact to the Department budget.
