Several months ago you expressed some interest in considering an ordinance which would regulate tobacco retailers as it relates to selling smoking devices.  Since that time the city attorney has drafted an ordinance which establishes a requirement that retailers that sell smoking devices must post warning signs at the entrance to the store and additionally requires that displays be stored in an area out of view of minors.  If this ordinance is approved the retail establishments in the city that sell smoking devices will receive advance notice of the ordinances effective date which as proposed is 90 days from its adoption.
