RE:Special Event Guidelines

REQUEST:
The request before City Council is to review the Special Event Guidelines as identified in this agenda item.


DISCUSSION
:

Special events can help build a sense of belonging and community pride.  Events should be family friendly and implemented without a negative impact on residents, visitors, area merchants or the City and its parks.  The attached event guidelines were established to ensure public safety as well as for the protection of our natural resource. 

 

The attached revisions will be included in the Events Policy and Procedure Manual, distributed to all Special Event Organizers and the City Special Event Team and will then be implemented effective October 1, 2018.  All events held in the City on and after October 1, 2018, will be required to adhere to these guidelines. 



RECOMMENDATION:

The recommendation before City Council is to approve the attached list of revisions to the Policy and Procedure Manual for events and to have the revisions take effect October 1, 2018.
