REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to approve Resolution No. 2018-15 which amends Resolution No. 2018-13 regarding the public hearing date for the proposed millage rate.
DISCUSSION:
At a special meeting on July 31, 2018, City Council adopted Resolution No. 2018-13 which eastablished the tentative millage rate for the upcoming fiscal year and set forth the first public hearing date as Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Since that time, staff has been notified by Pasco County that they have rescheduled their public hearing date which now causes a direct conflict with the City's September 4th date. Therefore, it is the request of staff for Council to approve the attached amended resolution and set forth the new first public hearing date as Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. All other provisions in Resolution No. 2018-13 remain in effect and unchanged including the tentative millage rate of 8.9000 mills. The second public hearing is tentatively scheduled to be on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the amended resolution as submitted.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
No effect at this time. Once a final millage rate is adopted, the determined rate will have a fiscal impact on the FY18-19 Budget. | | | |
