REQUEST:
The request before City Council is to review and approve the Alcoholic Beverage Special Event Application for the 2018 Caribbean Festival to be held in Sims Park.
DISCUSSION:
The Special Event Team meet on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 to review the 2018 Alcoholic Beverage Special Event Application from the Iona Foundation Corporation. They are requesting to conduct a Caribbean Festival in Sims Park, with beer and wines sells, on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 12:00p.m. - 11:00p.m. A map is attached that identifies the location for the beer and wine sells.
During the event, the applicant also wishes to conduct a parade from the north parking lot in Sims Park, around the Lake and ending on Bank Street. There will not be any beer or wines sells other then the two locations in Sims Park that are identified on the map.
RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation before City Council is to approve the sell of beer and wine by the Iona Foundation Corporation during the Caribbean Festival in Sims Park from 12:00p.m. - 11:00p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018.
