As City Council is aware, the City purchased three private utilities in 2017.  During the acquisition process the owner of Orangewood Lake Utility Services approached the City with an inquiry to purchase the private utility as well.  Preliminary site visits from staff began in 2016 and continued with site visits from the City’s Utility Consultant McKim & Creed.  Subsequent to the site visits, a task order was executed between the consultant and the City to begin a utility valuation analysis to determine the feasibility of purchasing the Orangewood Lake Utility System.  The purpose of this work session is to present to City Council staff’s findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
