On August 21, 2018 at a regularly scheduled meeting, ITB18-014 bid award was approved by City Council. The ITB was for the construction of the James E. Grey Preserve Urban Trails Project Phase 1. This project calls out for the construction of parking areas, shell entrance drive, an eight foot wide walking/biking trail and connections. A pedestrian bridge over the Cotee River south of the Harbor View Mobile Home Park, a five foot wide walking trail and connections, signage, and landscaping.
Subsequent to the bid award State permitting requirements created a delay in the environmental permit as well as additional design and construction features. In addition, these requirements created revised project quantities and deviations to the schedule of values contained in the original bid documents. As a result staff has determined that the ITB bids and award should be rejected and the project re-advertised and re-bid.
