In the FY 2018/2019 budget, Council approved the purchase of two Ford SUVs and ancillary emergency equipment to include radios, emergency lighting, sirens, computer mounts, rifle and shotgun racks, prisoner partitions, front and rear facing camera systems, and accessories. Council also approved the purchase of one (1) Ford Fusion and its ancillary equipment to include emergency lighting and a radio, radio mount, etc.
The recommended supplier for the lighting, computer mounts, gun racks, and lockable storage equipment for the Interceptor SUVs, and the lighting and radio mounts for the Fusion Sedan is Signal Technology Enterprises, Inc., 420 West 27th Street, Hialeah, FL 33010. Their quoted prices meet or are below the City of Miami Contract Award #516388(21), for which the contract period is from January 25th, 2018 through January 24th, 2019. The total cost for this equipment and its installation is $27,121.67.
The recommended supplier for the three Harris mobile, XG25M police radios and ancillary equipment is Williams Communication, Inc., 11191 43rd Street North, Ste A, Clearwater, Florida 33762. Williams Communication is the authorized service provider for Harris radios for our area. The total cost of the police radios is $11,039.13.
The recommended supplier for video camera system for the Interceptor SUVs is Watch Guard Video – 415 E. Exchange Parkway, Allen, TX 75002. Watch Guard Video is the exclusive and sole source provider of the Watch Guard video system. The total cost for this equipment is $10,740.00.
Police department staff determined the total cost will exceed the amount approved by Council in the Department’s 2018-2019 budget by $4,294.80.
