REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to conduct a first reading of Ordinance No. 2019-2149 amending Chapter 13 of the City's Code to prohibit bathhouses.
DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this agenda item is to prohibit the operation of bathhouse establishments in the city. A bathhouse is an establishment other than a medical facility that permits that a bath be applied by one person to another. The reason that it has been determined that bathhouses are not an appropriate business use in the city relates to their association with prostitution and human trafficking.
RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation is for the City Council to conduct a first reading and to approve the ordinance.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
