REQUEST:
The City Council is asked to review and approve the following amendments to the FY19 Adopted Budget, which would allow for the following:

purchase and installation of slide gate at the Recreation Center
-
purchase of a commercial printer for Public Works Administration Building
-
purchase and installation of 3 lighting contactors and 5 switches on pool deck
-
emergency purchase of a bleach tank due to cracking
-
emergency purchase of 2 mechanical seals for a high service pump
-
purchase 2 pressure zone belts
-
acceptance of $200 donation to the Library to go toward certain audiobooks
-
acceptance of $2,028 donation to the Recreation Center to purchase volleyball nets & pads
-
acceptance of $1,000 donation to the Recreation Center to purchase bags and supplies for the Youth Advisory Board to give to give out
DISCUSSION:
The City’s Purchasing Policy states that any capital purchase or improvement that is not part of the original budget must go before the City Council for approval. The City’s policy also states that the receipt and use of funds not originally anticipated in the budget or received for a particular purpose, including but not limited to grants, donation, or gifts, must be approved by City Council.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that City Council approve the attached amendments to the FY19 Adopted Budget.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
The adjustments for capital purchases results in the transfer of funds within the same departments; therefore, there is no effect to the overall budgeted amount. The amendments that allows for the acceptance of a donations result in an overall increase of $3,228 to the General Fund’s Operating Budget. | | | |
