RE:2019 Street Improvement Project Task Order No. 5565-043 - Engineering Services

REQUEST:

The request of staff for City Council is to review and consider for approval Task Order No. 5565-043 from the Genesis Group for engineering services in the amount not to exceed $114,550.00 for the proposed 2019 Street Improvement Project design, bidding, and construction phases.



DISCUSSION
:

As Council is aware, the Genesis Group executed an agreement with the City to perform the 2014 Roadway Needs Assessment.  Included in the report was a ranking system that identified roadways by their existing condition and placing them into groups or paving cycles.  The streets included in this task order are identified as paving group cycle three and four as being in the worst condition in need of resurfacing or street reconstruction.  They include:

 

1.       Main Street from US Hwy  19 to Old Main Street

2.       Main Street from Southtowne Loop to Sea Forest Drive

3.       Lincoln Street from Missouri Avenue to Montana Avenue

4.       Kentucky Avenue from River Road to Cul-de-sec

5.       Vermont Avenue from River Road to Cul-de-sec

6.       Gulf Drive from US Hwy 19 to City Limits west

7.       Palmetto Road from US Hwy 19 to Mandy Lane

8.       Meadowlane Street from Aspen Street to George Street

9.       Riverview Drive from Grand Boulevard to Oak Ridge Avenue

10.    Oak Ridge Avenue from Grand Boulevard to Louisiana Avenue

11.    Rio Drive from Lafayette Street to Illinois Avenue



RECOMMENDATION:

Approval of Task Order is recommended.



BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:

Funds for this project are identified in the City's current Capital Improvement Program in the Street Improvement Fund (701).
