REQUEST:
The request of staff for City Council is to review and consider for approval the attached sole source proposal from Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $34,828.93.
DISCUSSION:
As City Council is aware, the City’s Stormwater Utility operates and maintains a lift station located between Azalea Dr. and Bougainville Dr. located in the Heights Neighborhood adjacent to the southern City Limits. This lift station is the main stormwater facility that prevents flooding in the area by pumping stormwater out to the Gulf. The existing Flygt motor and pump are 22 years old and are in need of repair or replacement.
The cost to repair the equipment is $29,875. As stated previously, the replacement cost is $34,828.93 and is therefore a better return on your investment option.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the sole source proposal is recommended and allowed under the City's Finance purchasing guidelines.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for the equipment is available in the Stormwater Utility line item account # 002103-46399. | | | |
