Attached for your review and consideration by City Council is a one year contract extension for the bulk purchase of sodium hypochlorite (bleach) used in the treatment of wastewater and raw water.  The one year contract extension contains the same unit pricing with terms and conditions currently outlined in Bid No.17-010.  

On April 17, 2017 an Invitation to Bid No.17-010 was advertised by the City requesting competitive proposals from vendors who could supply various chemicals in bulk for the purpose of raw water and wastewater treatment.  Sealed bids were received by the City Clerk on June 1, 2017 and opened on June 2, 2017.  Subsequent to staff’s review of the submitted bids, Council approved the bid award for the purchase of bulk sodium hypochlorite from Allied Universal Corporation.  A contract agreement was executed between the City and the vendor that included an initial period of one year price guarantees and the option of two one year extensions should both parties agree to extend the original contract pricing in writing.  Staff was able to receive a contract extension with Allied Universal Corporation for the continued purchase in bulk of sodium hypochlorite.  The attached extension is the first of the two one year options.
