On October 5, 2018 Matthew Potter resigned as the board-elected trustee of the Firefighters' Pension Board. At their regular meeting on May 15, 2019, the remaining trustees elected David Dorsey to fill the vacated trustee position. Pursuant to Section 17-38 of the City's Code:
"The fifth trustee shall be chosen by a majority of the previous four (4) trustees as provided for herein, and such person's name shall be submitted to the city council. Upon receipt of the fifth person's name, the city council shall, as a ministerial duty, appoint such person to the board as its fifth trustee."
Mr. Dorsey's term as board-elected trustee is for four years and will be up for renewal on June 18, 2023.
