REQUEST:
The request is for City Council to review and approve the attached proposal from CDW-G for the installation of new vehicle routers for the Police Department in an amount not to exceed $52,143.30.
DISCUSSION:
The Police Department currently utilizes Verizon mifi devices for the in-car data connection. This device is intended for business travel and not reliable in the vehicles. The Cradlepoint router will provide a consistent data connection and allows for several devices to connect to the vehicle ( laptop, GPS, body camera, smart phone). This project was approved in the FY18/19 budget and pricing is provided for in the Florida WSCA Contract (AR233 4322000-WSCA-14-ACS.)
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the attached proposal from CDW-G for the installation of new vehicle routers for the Police Department in an amount not to exceed $52,143.30.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds for this project are allocated and identified as in the City’s current Capital Improvement Program in the amount of $ 61,000.00. [001-02-12-024-512-0000-0000-46413] the proposed total project cost is $52,143.30. | | | |
