On July 11, 2019 six (6) sealed bids were received by the City Clerk and opened on July 12, 2019. The results of the bid tabulation identified the apparent low bidder as Fort Bend Services, Incorporated for bulk purchase of liquid Polymer at $1.28 a pound (lb). This is an increase of 18 cents from the existing cost per pound or $9,000 per year. The bids submitted ranged from a high of $1.75/lb to a low of $1.28/lb. As City Council may recall, Fort Bend Services, Incorporated is the same vendor that supplied the City liquid polymer under the City’s previous bulk chemical purchases contract agreement. The direct cost increase is related to the increase in tariff cost.
Subsequent to the bid tabulation, Wastewater Treatment Plant personnel reviewed and verified performance standards of the liquid polymer as describe in the bid documents.
