The Cultural Affairs Committee met on August 21, 2019.  A presentation was provided by a representative from Pasco Pride requesting funding for a documentary film, "The Lavender Scare", to be shown in the Richey Suncoast Theatre during the Pasco Pride event in New Port Richey on October 2nd or 3rd.

Tickets will be sold in the amount of $10 for admission to the film.  Pasco Pride will share a portion of the proceeds from the film with the Richey Suncoast Theatre.

"The Lavender Scare" is a documentary film based from a book written by USF Professor David K. Johnson.  Mr. Johnson will be attendance for the showing of the film to provide a talk about his book and the film.

Pasco Pride is requesting funding from the Cultural Affairs Committee in the amount of $1,655 to cover the cost of half of the theater rental, the public viewing rights to show the documentary film and for marketing materials.

The Cultural Affairs Committee voted in favor of the recommendation to fund the showing of the documentary film "The Lavender Scare" at the Richey Suncoast Theatre in the amount of $1,655.
