RE:Partnership Proposal with The Central RE: RAC Memberships

REQUEST:
The request before City Council is to review and approve a partnership proposal between The Central and the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center.

DISCUSSION
:

Attached is a proposal from The Central to enter into a partnership with the Recreation and Aquatic Center in order for their residents to purchase annual memberships to the Recreation and Aquatic Center at a 50% reduction in cost for their first year of residency in The Central.  Under this partnership, The Central will provide payment to the City for the first two months for each of their residents.  Their residents will then pay the City the remaining ten monthly payments for membership to the Recreation and Aquatic Center.  After the first year, the residents of The Central will then purchase annual memberships to the Recreation and Aquatic Center at the full rate, should they choose to renew.

The partnership proposal from The Central is attached.  The City will benefit from the partnership with The Central through their providing of virtual tours to our facility, scheduling in person tours, having marketing material posted in their leasing office, listing our department logo on select marketing materials, recognitions on email blasts, mentions in the monthly newsletter and on social media.  The Central also proposes to create a map of all City parks and will make the artwork available for our use.  They will promote our facilities and events to their residents through emails and on social media.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommendation before City Council is for approval of the partnership between The Central and the Recreation and Aquatic Center and to allow the department to enter into an Agreement with The Central to provide annual memberships for the Recreation and Aquatic Center to the residents of The Central at a 50% reduction in cost for their first year of residency.
