As City Council may recall, on February 16, 2016 City Council approved the purchase of a residential property located at 5031 School Road with the use of Stormwater Utility Assessment Fee dollars. The purchase of this property was an effort by staff to reduce repetitive flooding in the southeast area of the Tanglewood Terrace Phase I neighborhood. In addition, this area was identified and included in the City's 2013 Master Drainage Plan 10 year update as item number eight in the Stormwater Improvements/Upgrades section of the plan. Topography maps included in the plan identified this area to be the bottom of the basin or low point.
This proposed project includes the construction of a catch basin inlet structures, a dry stormwater detention pond with an overflow structure that ties into the existing stormwater system that will capture and relocate the stormwater during an event to reduce the frequency of property and street flooding.
