As Council is aware, the City owns and operates 12 buildings with existing HVAC systems. These systems, in most cases are large commercial units ranging in age from one (1) year to 26 years old. Specifications for these units call out regular maintenance items and frequencies. It has been staffs intent to acquire economy of scale pricing by including all of the units in a competitive bid maintenance service contract. It is anticipated, that by performing this type of regular maintenance the frequency of major repairs will be lowered and the systems useful life will reach its maximum expectancy.
On October 17, 2017 the City and Air Mechanical and Service Corporation entered into the current HVAC maintenance agreement. During this time, Air Mechanical and Service Corporation has performed this service in accordance with all contract terms and conditions. They have been responsive to the City’s needs on several occasions when systems were down or in need of major repairs/replacements.
