| TO: | City of New Port Richey City Council | | FROM: | Robert M Rivera, Public Works Director | | DATE: | 10/15/2019 | | RE: | Approval of Agreements with Southern Road and Bridge RE: Stormwater Erosion Control and Culvert Replacements |
REQUEST:
Attached for your review and consideration for approval are agreements from Southern Road and Bridge for stormwater erosion control measures and for stormwater culvert replacements. The agreements includes the same conditions and unit pricing as the current Pasco County IFB-JV-18-058 in an amount not to exceed $4,567,261.25 and IFB-ML-19-001 in an amount not to exceed $6,952,464.00 and their potential usage are in accordance with the City's purchasing procedures and guidelines.
DISCUSSION:
As City Council is aware, the need for best management practices for a coastal community is a necessity. The City’s NPDES MS-4 permit requires the City to perform various types of stormwater maintenance and inspection activities. These two (2) IFB’s will be utilized to assist staff with these activities to increase efficiencies and streamline the Department’s operating and maintenance schedule.
Southern Road and Bridge has worked with the City on several capital projects. These projects include the Aerial Pipeline Painting Project, the Recreation and Aquatics Center Painting Project, and Main Street Landing Streetscape Project. All of these projects were completed on time and under budget.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the piggyback agreements is recommended.
