REQUEST:
The City Council is asked to review and approve the following amendments to the FY19 Adopted Budget, which would allow for the following:

Acceptance of $400 donation from the Rotary Club of New Port Richey to the Recreation Center to cover the chair rental for an event

Acceptance of the Library Services and Technology Act Innovation Grant, in the amount of $2,875.11, from the Division of Library and Information Services, which will be used to cover copier costs

Acceptance of $1,500 from the Rotary Club of New Port Richey to the Recreation Center, which will be used to cover the purchase of a frozen drink machine to use at special events

Acceptance of donations to cover expenses for the Youth Advisory Board:

Farrell Cares, Inc. - $150.00

Friendly KIA - $150.00

Air Xpress Inc. - $150.00

Florida Humanities Council - $500.00

Emergency repairs of all 4 pool pumps
DISCUSSION:
The City’s Purchasing Policy states that any capital purchase or improvement that is not part of the original budget must go before the City Council for approval. The City’s policy also states that a receipt not anticipated in the budget or received for a particular purpose, including but not limited to grants, donation, or gifts, must be approved by City Council.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that City Council approve the attached amendments to the FY19 Adopted Budget.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:
The adjustments for capital purchases results in the transfer of funds within the same department; therefore, there is no effect to the overall budgeted amount. The amendments that allow for the acceptance of donations result in an overall increase of $5,745.11 to the General Fund’s Operating Budget. | | | |
